Merchant Choice Routing (MCR) Online

PayWay is a simple, secure, internet-based solution to collect and manage customer payments. Merchant Choice Routing (MCR) Online allows you to route all Visa or MasterCard debit card payments to eftpos, or allows you to choose which network to route to, based on a threshold value you specify. As a business, MCR Online may allow you to save on transaction costs.

  • Save on transaction costs - MCR Online gives you the choice to route online payments to the scheme network with the least cost identified
  • Simplified setup - MCR Online rules can be configured by any administrator user by signing in to PayWay

How to implement MCR Online

To enable MCR Online you will need someone with Client Administrator access.

MCR Online is available for Visa and MasterCard debit card payments processed through:

  • PayWay Net (including REST API)
  • PayWay Classic Credit Card API
  • PayWay Batch
  • PayWay Virtual Terminal
  • PayWay Recurring Billing and Customer Vault (including REST API)

To enable MCR Online:

  1. Sign in to PayWay
  2. Click to open Settings
  3. Click Merchants
  4. Click Configure Merchant Choice Routing
  5. Agree to terms and conditions and click Enable MCR Online
  6. Configure each merchant and click Save.
